It is such a nerve wracking experience to quit your job and hand in that resignation letter. Handling the scenario the right way shows a lot about your characteristics. This 20min lesson on how to do it the right way can really change how you leave the job and make it still a positive experience. Doing it the right way can change how your employer looks at you. This isn't a bad thing and shouldn't be thought of it like it. Making it positive, smooth and continuing your good reputation can really your career in the long term.
What I Learned:
- Confirm the opportunity you have and stay in the mindset (Don't doubt yourself and be confident with your decisions)
- Check the contract (giving back equipment, checking policies)
- Keeping the conversation positive or neutral (bosses are contacted after leaving the job for reference)
- Always be the best version while being there
- Get your references / testimonials while you are in
